The Emirates Mars Mission
In July 2020, the UAE successfully launched the long-anticipated “Hope Probe” and became the first Arab nation to embark on a mission to Mars. As the region’s first interplanetary spacecraft, Hope represents the UAE’s deep-rooted commitment to space exploration and will serve as the Red Planet’s first-ever weather satellite.
FIRST Global Challenge Robotics Competition
In October 2019, the Dubai Future Foundation organized a competition to promote passion for STEM education and innovation in youth. Ambassador Al Otaiba provided a welcome to help kick off the event.

2018 Aspen Security Forum
At the 2018 Aspen Security Forum, Ambassador Al Otaiba joined a panel on security in the Middle East. During the discussion, he expanded on the UAE’s efforts to keep Iran from dominating Yemen and the entire region.
2017 ABANA Achievement
Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba introduced the recipient of the 2017 ABANA Achievement Award, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh. The ABANA Achievement Award recognizes outstanding leaders committed to financial and economic cooperation between the US, Middle East and North Africa.
